Women Living In Poverty
Empowering a poor woman is the best way to fight unjust laws.
In a lot of developing countries, women's rights are categorised as going to school, getting the ability to earn a decent income and getting enough to eat. Women and girls are the poorest of the poor because of the extreme forms of discrimination that persist in many parts of the world
Being allowed to go to school is a very important opportunity that they can not miss. Many families living in poverty keep their daughters at home to do the housework or look after younger siblings. When they do this they dont have time to go to school and get an education. With no schooling their future is going to be very poor. If they don't get an education they won't know their rights from wrongs or any things a literate average person would know. Some examples are ,maybe they don't know that there are dangerous creatures in the forest when they go to get water for their baths. They might come across one and get attacked. It's a horrible thought.
Getting enough food to eat is also a very significant thing we have to think about. If they are too poor to grow or buy enough food to feed their family so sometimes they only get 3 meals every two weeks where as we get 3 meals every day. The girls are always last to eat in the family and they are even lucky to eat at all because sometimes there isn't enough food for everyone. It's the men and the boys who always get the first priority. It isn't fair.
The only way for a girl to earn a decent income is through a small loan or to work hard to earn enough money. This helps them start a small business to support there loved ones. Even though this may be horrible to us they see it as the glass half full because it's more than their used to.
